PIAC – Raising the Age of criminal responsibility in NSW
The campaign to Raise The Age of criminal responsibility in NSW has been relaunched. This is part of a wider national campaign to raise the age to 14 across Australia.
The Public Interest Advocacy Centre, an independent, non-profit organisation that works with people and communities who are marginalised and facing disadvantage, is committed to this cause.
A coalition has come together in NSW to call on the NSW Government to raise the age of criminal responsibility to at least 14 – with PIAC co-ordinating. The group includes First Nations organisations, legal and human rights organisations, peak bodies in the non-government sector and unions.
Raise The Age Campaign Manager, PIAC’s Emily Mayo joined 2SER to discuss why we need to Raise the Age.
