A pick from the Batch Festival at Griffin Theatre

Ang Collins joins Stages to talk about her play Blueberry Play.

Ang is an emerging playwright originally from Newcastle, NSW. She completed her Bachelor of Arts (Languages) at the University of Sydney in 2016, where she cut her teeth as part of the Sydney University Dramatic Society.

She was a participant at Australian Theatre for Young People’s National Studio at Bundanon Trust in 2016 – her short piece ‘Blueberry Girl Grows Up’ was subsequently featured in ATYP’s ‘Intersection’ in February 2017 as a result of the Studio. This piece subsequently grew into ‘Blueberry Play’, which was shortlisted for the 2017 Griffin Award, and enjoyed its premiere production as part of Batch Festival at Griffin Theatre Company in April 2018.

In 2017, Ang was a participant in Bondi Feast’s ten minute playwriting event ‘24 Hour Party Playwright’ while completing her Master of Fine Arts (Writing for Performance) at NIDA.
