Pilot programme for Guide Dogs takes off
A new pilot programme initiated by Guide Dogs NSW/ACT is drawing on overseas research to help young puppies develop the essential skills of life as visual aid for their future owner.
The Positive Paws Project is also providing the opportunity to students from Hawkesbury High School north-west of Sydney to help in this process and learn how to correctly handle the puppies.
The Daily spoke to Brenda Calkin, Puppy Development Adviser with Guide Dogs NSW/ACT about how the project works and its benefits.
