Plastic ain’t fantastic – talking biodegradable nappies

Disposable nappies are the third largest contributors to landfill in the world, with Australians using 5.6 million each day.

These nappies contain a variety of plastics, adhesives and elastics which make them unbiodegradable and potentially hazardous not only to the environment, but for the children wearing them.

One initiative called gCycle has developed an eco-friendly, biodegradable nappy that delivers to childcare centres around the country in an attempt to reduce the number going straight to landfill.
