Plastic Free July – What Is It and How Can You Get Involved?

Plastic Free July is an environmental challenge that began in Perth in 2011 with 40 participants. 10 years later in 2021, Plastic Free July has grown into a global movement to encourage people to avoid single-use plastic in their daily lives. Anything from boycotting plastic straws to swapping to bar soap or minimising take-out, no action is too big or too small.
This week, 2Ser Breakfast producer Mairin spoke with Rebecca Prince-Ruiz, the founder of Plastic Free July to get more insight into how Plastic Free July started and all the best ways you can get involved.
