Plastic Waste in our Oceans
Plastic waste in our oceans continues to be a major problem and we all know the problems that this has caused to human and marine life. Various solutions have aimed to address this issue, one of them being deposit schemes that has been implemented in parts of Australia.
However have they been effective in solving the plastic waste problem in Australia and more importantly, do they reduce the sources of plastic debris entering our oceans?
Qamar Schuyler, who is a research scientist on oceans and atmospheres at the CSIRO, joined The Daily to discuss this and more.
