Pledge to Prevent Dangerous Artificial Intelligence from Creation
Artificial Intelligence technology has made a major milestone recently by creating Sophia the social humanoid robot. Robots like Sophia are remarkable in the sense that they can follow faces, hold a conversation and recognise individuals based on eye contact. But what if this Artificial Intelligence technology falls in the wrong hands and becomes developed to harm people? Well, Scientists all over the world have met to sign a pledge to prevent this from happening. 2SER was joined by Toby Walsh, Professor of Artificial Intelligence at the University of New South Wales and one of the many scientists who signed this pledge.
