Milton Cesar Loves Gringos!

This week we are taking off for a country that I have spoken about at length on this station- Colombia! And to help us get there is the greatest tour guide to walk the Earth- Milton Cesar.
Milton grew up in the city of Manizales, somewhere he will be quick to tell you is the most beautiful city in Colombia. Looking out the windows of the all girls school he attended, Milton would see the volcano on the horizon and imagine climbing to the top of it. Now, he gets paid to do so all year round, taking tourists from around the world to the snowy peaks. And while I didn’t get to make the journey to the volcano myself when I was with Milton in Colombia, I certainly heard from him how much I was missing out on (“What a shame you do not get to see the national park” was a sentence I heard almost every day I was with Milton).
Before I arrived in Colombia, I was nervous about what was waiting for me there. All I could think about were other peoples warnings to be careful of criminals, to try not to get kidnapped, and never go out at night. And while it’s true that some areas of Colombia aren’t very safe for tourists, it is a country that has changed significantly from what it was in the past, and that is a message Milton is working hard to spread.
So if you find yourself deplaning from this flight in need of a little guidance, I can’t recommend anybody more than Milton, who you can reach by email (miltoncop@outlook.es) or Instagram.
