Poetry Month with Jazz Money

August is Poetry Month – a national celebration of Australian poetry.

Launched in 2021 by Red Room Poetry, Poetry Month aims to increase access, awareness and visibility of poetry in all its forms and for all audiences.

One of the big events to celebrate Poetry Month is Australian poetry’s night of nights, The National Poetry Gala, to be held harbourside in Sydney on Fri 4 August with host Benjamin Law, Stella Prize winner Sarah Holland-Batt, ABC TV’s Jennifer Wong, hip-hop artist L-Fresh the Lion, special guest Minister for the Arts, Tony Burke and poet Jazz Money, a Wiradjuri poet and artist currently based on Gadigal land.

Jazz joined 2SER Breakfast to discuss her career as a poet, the importance of events and communities for poets and to recite her work, our abundance as though it were honey.
