Poetry’s power in a digital world

Assoc. Prof Paul Dawson from UNSW’s School of Arts and Media discusses poetry in the modern age with Nic Healey. While Australian poetry continues to be written, it doesn’t have the presence it once had in newspapers, in libraries or on bookshelves. As large production companies and promotional budgets backing poets have disappeared, so has the audience. Poet slammers, twitter limerists and cyber bards hold the future of Australian poetry in their hands.
