Post curfew in Alice Springs: is it safer?
It’s been almost a fortnight since the NT government lifted the curfew aimed to reduce youth crime in Alice Springs.
The curfew was imposed after the NT government declared an emergency, following reports of an escalating series of violent incidents at the end of March.
The restrictions banned people under the age of 18 from entering the town centre between 6pm and 6am without a valid reason.
Now children are back at school and the local, state, and Federal government are still working out a strategy to improve community safety in Alice Springs.
What do residents think about life post-curfew though?
