Power workers strike threatens NSW energy
New South Wales has been threatened with blackouts as power workers go on strike. They are calling for an end to an 18 month industrial relations dispute with Essential Energy. The Electrical Trades Union (ETU) is challenging their plan to cut 800 regional jobs, saying they have been launching legal action to cut their members pay and conditions. The Government owns Essential Energy, and the Opposition is calling on them to intervene.
