Prisoners underrepresented in Referendum vote
As the deadline for online enrollment to vote in the upcoming Voice to Parliament referendum approaches on 18 September, more than 95 per cent of prisoners have been enrolled to vote.
But according to Justice Action, this is disenfranchising nearly 45,000 Australians in the justice system, one third of them being First Nations prisoners.
If prisoners cannot enroll, their voices and their representation in the Referendum will go unheard.
