Protecting the Universe
Recently, NASA and private individuals like Elon Musk have been launching all sorts of things into space. Just last month, Elon Musk launched a Tesla car into space with a mannequin named “Starman” at the wheel.
But NASA’s newest planetary protection officer, Lisa Pratt, has slammed Musk for cluttering up the solar system. It’s her job to “protect earth from alien invaders and protect the solar system from Earth’s trash.”
The Daily‘s Sam Baran was joined by Jake Clark, PhD student in the Astrophysics Group at the University of Southern Queensland, to discuss mankind’s record of both protecting and polluting the universe.
