Protest Art- Adani and The Black Finch Project

Over the past few weeks, Australian artists have been creating small artworks depicting the endangered black-throated finch. The artworks have then been photographed, uploaded to Instagram and then sent to politicians involved in decision-making around the Adani Carmichael mine in Queensland’s Galilee Basin. More than 1,400 have been mailed to date.

The Daily’s Stephen Hill spoke with Dr Felicity Fenner, Associate Professor of Art and Design at  University of New South Wales, about whether Protest art such as The Black Finch Project, carries any weight.
