Public Health Messages Delivered by Memes
During this COVID crisis, it has become difficult to reach everyone with important public announcements. But this issue has seen the rise of Memes now being created to deliver public health messages more effectively. This form of delivering messages has become more popular and effectively able to reach a larger audience. These memes are generated by a group of people, often coming from “Meme Factories”, but these memes don’t only inform but also misleading. 2SER was joined by Dr Crystal Abidin, Senior Research Fellow in Internet Studies, Curtin University.
