Pulp Fiction and Youth Culture
Starting in the 1950s, pulp fiction paperbacks were an important source of entertainment for many readers, providing many with a wild escapism from their daily lives. One interesting feature of many of these novels is the way they represented the burgeoning youth culture of these times — and mainstream society’s terror at the upheaval.
