More questions than answers on Indigenous suicide
It’s being called a violence crisis, as Aboriginal people are more likely to experience family violence and suicide.
Indigenous children are particularly vulnerable, comprising 30 per cent of suicide deaths among those under 18 years of age.
To try and address this issue the Federal Government has released a new report, titled ‘Solutions that work – What the evidence and our people tell us.’
Ninah Kopel spoke with Anthony Dillon, Lecturer in the faculty of health sciences at the Australian Catholic University about what we can learn from the report.
