Recycled water – a concept too hard to swallow?

Climate change, growth in population and drought are three uncontrollable factors that are contributing to global water shortages.

These stresses have forced us to look for alternative and more sustainable ways to source and store the water we currently have.

Recycled water – meaning the water that comes from things like residential waste and stormwater and is then treated and filtered – is one solution to deal with these problems.

However, the stigma around recycled water as ‘dirty’ still remains, with some physically repulsed by the idea we might soon drink recycled, potable water.
