Recycling Breadtags Into Wheelchairs

The coronavirus pandemic sparked a love for baking fresh bread at home but do you remember visiting a store and picking up a loaf?

Did you recycle your plastic bread tags or did they disappear into the far corner of your kitchen?

The South Australian charity ‘Aussie Breadtags for Wheelchairs’ allows the public to drop these plastic squares at collection points, where they are recycled into wheelchairs for disadvantaged South Africans. To date, they have recycled more than one-and-a-half tonnes of tags.

2SER Breakfast’s Alex James spoke with Jenny Cooper from Aussie Breadtags for Wheelchairs to learn more about the charity.
