Renewable Energy Update: Mobility for Africa

On this weeks Renewable Energy Update we were joined by Dr. Matt Wright, a postdoctoral research associate at Oxford University, who spoke about the latest developments in the world of renewable energy.

Mobility for Africa is an organisation that aims to increase the availability and usage of electric vehicles in remote communities to facilitate easier transportation of people, goods and services. The lack of roads and infrastructure in some rural African communities means that E-tricycles are the preferred mode of transport.

The project aims to provide electric three wheeled vehicles to rural customers, mainly women, on a rent-to-own and lease basis, and further funding allows Mobility for Africa to establish solar powered charging stations and set up a fleet management system.
