In light of Cumberland City Council proposing to ban children’s books featuring same-sex couples in the libraries within their area, representing diverse families becomes more and more paramount.
Daniel Gray-Barnett is an award-winning author and illustrator of books including Grandma Z, Katerina Cruickshanks, and his latest, Saturday is Pancake Day, written by Bernadette Green. Having LGBTQIA+ representation appear in his work as well as being a gay dad himself, Daniel talks about the importance of representation with Eleanor on Drive.
