Riding the wave of ocean conservation

Lauren L. Hill has many epithets to her vocation — surfer, writer, mother, podcaster, filmmaker, activist, and Patagonia surf ambassador. She co-hosts the Waterpeople podcast, authored She Surf: The Rise of Female Surfing, and the filmmaker behind The Physics of Noseriding (2022). Her new short film Kin, will be premiering this week at Patagonia’s free ‘PROTECT AUSTRALIA’S OCEAN FOR GOOD’ event, which will take place at the Harbord Hotel in Freshwater this Thursday 9th November. It’ll feature conversations with leading climate activists, musical performances, and film screenings.

Lauren caught up with Curdie on Monday Drive to chat about her film and Patagonia’s upcoming event.
