Rivers are Legal Persons Too
The Ganga and Yamuna Rivers in India and the Whanganui River in New Zealand have recently been legal rights and are now considered legal persons. To discuss the significance of these rivers and their legal rights, The Daily was joined by water policy and governance specialist at the University of Melbourne Erin O’Donnell.
