Robot Revolution: Do Robots Really Pose a Threat to Our Jobs?
Covid changed the way we do many everyday things. A somewhat controversial change has been the increased use of robot workers, which now appear frequently in airport, office and hospitality environments.
While robot workers are helpful as a first line of defence against person-to-person contact and have alleviated labour shortages, dire predictions that robots will steal our jobs are on the rise.
Last week, enraged citizens directed their anger towards The Matterhorn, a restaurant on Sydney’s North Shore, which reportedly received death threats over a robot waiter it had recently employed.
2SER Monday Daily was joined by David Tuffley, Senior Lecturer from the School of Information and Communication Technology at Griffith University to discuss robot workers.
