Room Sharing and Overcrowding on the Rise

The number of households experiencing rental stress is on the rise in Australia, with NSW leading the pack. As a result, tenants have been looking to shared housing, however the more extreme solution to this has been room sharing, where occupants share a bedroom or divided living space (such as a garage or living room) with strangers. We were joined by Senior Policy Officer, Leo Patterson Ross from the Tenants’ Union of NSW to unpack this issue.
