Keeping Cassettes Classic at RUN LMC
“RUN LMC” is an exhibition which mixes the old and new, turning old cassette tapes into jewellery.
Laila Marie Costa is a Melbourne artist with a passion for both jewellery and music. While working at The Tote, a live music venue in Melbourne, she rescued old band demo cassette tapes and re-purposed as many components as possible from the hundreds collected.
Laila joined the Friday Drive Team to talk more about the exhibition and her collection, along with her micro mosaic technique.
The exhibition opened on the 12th of July, running until the end of the month at Studio 20/17 Project Space in North Sydney. Details can be found on the project space’s website.
