More than 5 million dogs live across Australia so it comes as no surprise that we have truly embraced them as man’s best friend.

Dogs in the country wear many hats, from faithful companion to trusted worker, but for one woman they’re an essential part of broaching tough conversations about mental health in Dunkeld in regional Victoria.

2SER Breakfast’s Willy Russo spoke to Kelly Barnes, founder of Mates Dog School and the 2020 AgriFutures Victoria Rural Women’s Award winner, to learn how she’s engaging with her community.
