Rural Refugees Helping to Raise Bushfire Awareness in Australia
In Australia, we are well educated about the risks of living in bush dense areas, however for Karen refugees from Thailand, who have previously not experienced bush-fires in their local areas, bush-fire awareness is not present. Whilst living in the Victorian town of Nhill is far more peaceful and enjoyable for Karen refugees than living in a Thai refugee camp, they are exposed to this different kind of risk. In order to address this and help inform this community about fire safety, Karen refugee Thahser Blehndah has written and starred in a new video about fire hazards for Karen migrants.
