Russia has been implementing stricter internet laws in the last five years, including censoring VPS- browser that provide anonymity and encrypted communication apps such as telegram. While the later is technically illegal to use, it is still operable due the havoc it cause on other essential online services, when it was censored. As a resolution to the problem, Russia plans on creating their own internet service. To discuss this further we had Mr Nigel Phair, Director of University of UNSW Canberra Cyber.
