Safety Not A Priority In Afghan Refugee Program
The Biden administration has launched their “Priority Two” refugee program in response to calls for more support to be offered to at-risk Afghans.
The program focuses on helping Afghans affiliated with the US seek safety on American soil as the threat of the Taliban continues to rise.
However, the P2 program may be more harmful than helpful to Afghans needing to escape as multiple conditions of the program are almost impossible to adhere to.
Nishank Motwani is the Director of Research and Policy at Access Transform Reach Consulting in Kabul. He spoke to The Wire’s Ayla Liebenberg about why the Priority Two program won’t help Afghans.
