Last Thursday, a report years in the making was released to the public. The Brereton report revealed the alleged murders of 39 Afghan prisoners and civilians and recommended 19 members of the Australian Special Forces be referred to the Australian Federal Police for criminal investigation.

The crimes alleged in the report were not in the heat of battle or fog of war, meaning the alleged murders would amount to war crimes.

To discuss what comes next for the victims, victims families and the Afghan people, Jarred Cross spoke to Rawan Arraf, Director of the Australian Centre for International Justice.
