Save Money or Die of the Cold?
Does your home maintain a comfortable temperature inside despite the conditions outside? Researchers at the University of Wollongong have been trying to find out why tenants of social housing have to sacrifice staying warm during the winter in order to manage their electricity bills. More than one million Australians live in very poor housing conditions, meaning many people have to choose whether to pay their next power bill or die of cold.
2SER was joined by one of the researchers involved with the study, Daniel Daly, Research Fellow at the Sustainable Buildings Research Centre, University of Wollongong.
