School kids discover new insects and spiders in citizen science project

In the citizen science project “Insect Investigators”, some school students are not just learning about insects in the classroom.
They’re surveying them, putting them on the map, and even discovering and getting to name new species.
Kids of all ages in the project got to survey insect diversity, search for new species, and engage with entomologists throughout the school year.
Andy Howe, an entomologist and Research Fellow with the Forest Research Institute, at the University of the Sunshine Coast, is a part of the Insect Investigators Citizen Science Project, and joined us on the show this morning.
