Screen Time and Kids
Parents around the world are concerned that their kids may be spending so much time in the “screen world”, that their kids may be missing out on real life experiences. In fact, it is estimated 5-16 year olds are spending an average of 6 hours a day looking at a screen. However, this technology use goes beyond leisure and is often used as an educational tool. Mathletics, Readings Eggs and Epic are just some of the programs that teachers prescribe our children. But are kids spending TOO much time on technology? And is technology really an effective educational tool? To answer these questions and more we had Dr. James Wakefield from the University of Technology.
