A landmark petition spearheaded by Former Prime Minister Kevin Rudd, calling for a royal petition into media diversity and the Murdoch press, exceeded 500,000 signatures.

This week the Greens Senator, Sarah Hanson-Young, put her support behind the cause by pushing a motion through the Senate calling for an Inquiry into this issue.

Tina Quinn spoke with the Senator about why she decided to put her support behind the issue, the media concentration of the Murdoch press and the unlikely alliance of two former Prime Ministers from opposing sides, Kevin Rudd and Malcolm Turnbull.
