Send out the Teachers
We’re already in the midst of a teacher shortage and with our population growing faster than ever, a degree in teaching seems like a pretty safe bet.
But according to research from the Board of Studies, up to 40% of teacher graduates are struggling to find work within four months of graduation. What’s more – up to one in three teachers are leaving the profession within five years of graduating. In NSW alone this translates to nearly 3,000 teachers leaving the profession in the past six years.
