Why is the Sex Party pushing for the Australian Christian lobby to be stripped of its charity status?
Have you heard of the Australian Christian Lobby? Well last month, Eternity House, the headquarters of both Australian Christian Lobby and the ACT branch of school chaplaincy provider Scripture Union, were added to the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission register in Canberra. But the Australian Sex Party is not entirely happy with this new addition and is reigniting calls to end tax exemptions for religion.
Mitch spoke to Meredith Doig, the Sex Party’s lead senate candidate and head of the rationalist society of Australia about why her party wants a change in policy and what this would mean for the Australian Christian Lobby.
