Senator Jane Hume has characterised the Budget 2025 as one for 5 weeks and not 5 years.

The Federal Election looms over this budget and must be held prior to May 17.

Treasurer Jim Chalmers budget has plunged deeply back into the red after two modest surpluses, but seeks to provide some cost of living relief .  Cyclone Alfred had shaved off 0.25% on growth in the economy and combined with international issues like trade and the war in Ukraine will make growth a problem in the near term according to Chalmers.

NDIS growth has been reigned in, and the Government is ensuring that more Medicare GP clinics will be available and bulk billing will be more available
