Shocking ANU Data Breach Raises Cybersecurity Concerns
Shockingly the Australian National University was hit with a large data breach, with unauthorised access to personal details dating back to 19 years. The breach, which happened in late 2018, was only detected two weeks ago, with the university keeping it secret until now to prevent opportunistic attacks. Personal details such as names, addresses, phone numbers to tax file numbers and passport details may have been accessed. The university is currently strengthening their IT security and investigating the breach.
