Early Career Research showcase is an open competition for PhD candidates and academics at Macquarie University (MQ) to showcase their research to diverse audiences- ranging from fellow academics in various disciplines  to industry professionals, about the importance of their work. Dr. Signe Duff, Associate Lecturer of Educational Psychology in the School of Education at MQ, was the runner-up in the research pitch category; hers was titled “ To solve the problems of tomorrow, teach the children of today”. Her study looks into spatial reasoning development in young children, future implications for childcare who lack spatial reasoning, and looking into ways to incorporate spatial reasoning development into our existing educational structures.
