Simon Rice on Ruddock Report into Religious Freedom

In late November 2017, Phillip Ruddock led an expert panel that assessed if Australia needed new laws to protect religious freedom.

In the coming weeks the contents of this report will be released to the public, which will be undoubtedly met with controversial responses. Significantly, it’s predicted to trigger debate around anti-discrimination laws, with a possible expansion on the cards.

Simon Rice, Solicitor for the Supreme Court and Law Professor at the University of Sydney, joined Tess to talk about what this report will mean for us and future Australian legislation.
