Smoking rates high among disadvantaged communities

When was the last time you saw someone smoking in Australia?

It’s increasingly becoming a rarity – that is if you look at the general population.

But if we scratch the surface, we can see our low smoking rates are not so low in disadvantaged populations.


So, why do these pockets in the community continue to smoke? And how do we encourage people to stop smoking?
