Keep it Disco returns to the Oxford Art Factory basement for another night of dance and romance. Catch sets from from Lauren Hansom and Mike Who from 11.30pm to 3.30am. Tickets are $15, grab them online before to guarantee entry!

Sunday 8th – 

Working With Light at the Balmain Watch House 

The Sunrise Group presents Working With Light, a photographic exhibition of over 50 images exploring each members own experience with light. Whether it be at sunrise over the northern beaches, a pattern shot or still life. The exhibition moves across many genres including natural and abstract landscapes, seascapes and fine art. This exhibition is running from Saturday, July 7, to Sunday, July 15 at the Balmain Watch House.

Monday 9th –

Barbara McGrady at the Redfern Community Centre

Barbara McGrady, a Gamilaroi Murri Yinah photographer from northwestern NSW and Southern Queensland reflects on this years NAIDOC theme, ‘Because of her, we can!’ Through photography, her exhibition reflects on the strong, inspiring Indigenous women who have come before us, are here today and will follow. The exhibition will open this Monday July 8 and will run until July 20 at the Redfern Community Centre.

Tuesday 10th –

Sarah Edmondson at Galerie Pompom

Sarah Edmondson explores the idea of chance events through tapestry. She particularly pays attention to the chance of a glitch. With each needlepoint carefully recreating digital glitches. See Sarah’s tapestry at Galerie Pompom in Chippendale until Sunday the 22nd of July.

Thursday 11th – 

Brett Doran: Lift Off

Brett Doran’s exhibition features works made from layers of lacerated poster advertisements. See this exhibition at The Shop Gallery. Entry is free.

Friday 12th –

Tiwi: Ngarukuruwala – we sing

There will be songs, stories and dance together with a Sydney band and the recorded voices of Elders from past generations. The Sydney Environment Institute is partnering with The Planetary Health Platform to present an evening with the Tiwi Strong Women’s Group. See this at Seymour Centre. Tickets are $18-$23.
