GiRLTHING and Music Junkee presents: H O N E Y, a party celebrating the new album from Robyn that came out 26 October.Expect debut tracks from the new album, GiRLTHING classics and Robyn inspired shows on high rotation. Head to the Imperial Hotel – it kicks off at 9.30PM. There’s no pre-sales, only sales at the door, and it’s $15 before 11pm and $20 after.

Sunday

Not Just a Girl Flash Day is back this weekend! This isn’t your average flash day. All the money received from the tattoos goes to the Not Just a Girl Charity helping raise money for women in need. All tattoos range around $150-500 and are happening on a first-come-first-served basis. Doors open at 10am so line up early to secure your artist of choice. If you’re not down for a tattoo, there will be merchandise and prints available for purchase. This is happening at The Darling Parlour Tattoo Studio in Balmain.

Girls Rock! Presents: Sports Bra, Good Pash, The Nah, Part Time. This is their second fundraiser gig celebrating and showcasing female, trans and non-binary artists, growing our community and raising funds for the 2019 Girls Rock Camp Sydney. Head to The Factory Theatre from 2PM for fun times. You’ll need a ticket for $10 + BF which you can get here.

Monday

The 2018 Woollahra Small Sculpture Prize Exhibition of Finalists is happening this week. See some of the  most exciting contemporary small sculptures as judged by: Australian arts administrator Michael Lynch AO CBE and Director of independent art advisory LoveArt, Amanda Love. It’s free to see the exhibition and Woollahra Small Sculpture Prize in Double Bay from 9AM. 

Kudos Gallery: Tracing the Archipelago explores the idiosyncrasies involved with the occupation and navigation of space – whether it be socio-political, structural or digital.In addition, a public program will be developed by Sydney-based collective Desire Lines who will lead an explorative walking tour across the various sites surrounding the university, drawing attention to the planning of and everyday use of space particular to the area. Opening night goes from 5PM-8PM.

Wednesday

Head to Secret Garden Bar in Enmore for Canned Fruit: Trick or Treat Yo’self. There’ll be live performances and DJ-ing by Tilda Swagton and our very own producer Dyan Tai. There’s also a best dressed comp (no basic witches here!) and you have a chance to win double passes to Honcho Disko’s Honcho Halloween. It’s an all-inclusive, free event starting at 7PM. Get bloody excited!

Thursday

Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown is a stylish comedy set in post-Franco Madrid for a celebration of all the quirks of the 1980s. Expect big hair, big shoulders and a band that is smokin’ hot This is happening at NIDA in Kensington. Tickets are $18 – $28.

Justine Youssef’s solo exhibition, ‘All Blessings, All Curses‘, is also opening this Thursday. Born in the heart of Western Sydney, Youssef’s practice negates the stifling white heat of global xenophobia with deeply personal and universal ruminations that layer the smell, sights and textures of her ancestral homeland, Lebanon. It’s free to view and you can find it at 4A Centre of Contemporary Asian Art.

Floor Corners returns to the Oxford Art Factory featuring Brighter Days residents Slamb and Lewba. They’ll be DJ-ing back to back all night long.
