So Hot This Week: December 8

Saturday

Sound and Sense

Sound and Sense is an evening that takes poetry away from the realm of dusty annals and crusty old men and has a rad time playing with how poetry is relevant, crucial, and JOYOUS. Experience spoken word, visual, digital, and musical artists collaborate to titillate the senses. Poetry transforms into a multi-disciplinary banquet to indulge in and be provoked by (think provocative profiteroles and you’re halfway there). Line-up involves a great set of local talent including Tim Boyd, Henri King, Nat James and Brigitte Podrasky. Grab tickets online for just $13.

Sunday

PriceLE$$

What is it WORTH? PRICELE$$ invites you to reconsider the VALUE of all commodities, goods and services. Come and experience a market place free of notes and coinage. Stallholders will present a variety of creations, material items, food products, skills and knowledge to trade. You are invited to approach stalls and trade commodities in exchange for something of value. It’s trading, back to the days before plastic bills and scrap metal. If you’re interested in exchanging goods, please come to the market with something you consider valuable. Remember, value comes in lots of shapes and sizes; from avocados, hats, paintings, recipes or skills in Photoshop. PRICELE$$ also presents an exciting program of visual art, installations, workshops and panel discussions throughout the day. All designed to make you think, question and criticise money and value. Entry is free (obviously) and event runs from 11am-5pm in Stanmore.
