Head over to Darlinghurst to see five significant Asian and Australian artists converge on the theme of personal freedom through a lens of love, sex and desire. Expect photographic works Ren Hang, Hong Kong artist Wong Bing and so much more.

All About Women, 2019

The title says it all. Push your boundaries and think widely about everything about gender, justice and equality today at this all-day event of panel discussions, live talks, and workshops. It’s all designed to provoke and challenge.

March Exhibitions at Firstdraft

Head over to Surry Hills because Firstdraft has kicked off their March exhibitions. Artist talks will take place at the end of the month, but until then, check out three new gallery spaces exploring national identity issues,  intergenerational cultural memory and censorship.

Heroine – Exhibition Opening

Celebrating the dynamism and influence of female identities in Australian art, .M Contemporary announces the inaugural Heroine Exhibition. Featured artists include Joan Ross, Karla Dickens, Hoda Afshar, Min Wong, Millie Mitchell, Manon Mikolaitis, Paula do Prado, Machiko Motoi, Jane Guthleben, Jodi Clark, Lisa Jones, Nicole O’Loughlin and Sian Watson. You won’t want to miss it.

13: WEDNESDAY

Tension (between being constrained and being connected)  at 107 Projects

Knight will be showing two series of photographic works, Abyss (2018) and Arachne (2017), and a video work made from his recent performance, Submission (2018). All those involved in the making of these works, including the viewer, commit to both physical and psychological challenges, presenting themselves as both vulnerable and powerful to each other.

14: THURSDAY
