The Social Impact of Declining Literacy Rates
Did you know that Australia’s literacy rates have been in decline since 2000? Well the government has noticed, but is the new funding really improving our literacy for today and the future? The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development ranked us 4th in reading literacy back in 2000, but as of 2014 we as a nation had fallen to 14th place. Unfortunately, this decline has had widespread ramifications on everyday Australians. But what is being done to fix this?
