Social media pressuring pregnant women
You are halfway through your pregnancy, and it’s meant to be one of the happiest times in your life.
Yet every time you log into Facebook, you can’t help but compare yourself to your friends who are also pregnant. Have you put on too much weight? Does your bump look too big in this dress?
You’re not alone. A study from the United Kingdom found over half of pregnant women surveyed have concerns about their body image during pregnancy, with those concerns more apparent the more you use Facebook. Dr Amy Brown was one of the authors of the study. She is an Associate Professor in Child and Public Health at Swansea University in the UK.
