Soul of Chinatown: The organisation rallying to remove billboards from Sydney’s iconic cultural precinct

If you have recently taken a walk around Sydney’s CBD, you may have noticed that there are a few additional billboards on many streets. The billboards were introduced last year, as part of a deal between the City of Sydney and QMS media. For some pedestrians, the addition of these billboards was not welcomed.

One place you can find some of these billboards is Sydney’s Chinatown, and there is a group currently campaigning to remove them from Dixon street and its surrounds.

We spoke to Kevin Cheng; co-founder of the organisation known as Soul of Chinatown about this campaign.
